The scholarship has only one requirement, kindness. Each of our fifty nominees have touched another Richmond Burton student with kindness in some way. The student on the receiving end of this kindness took the time to pick up and complete an application from the counselors’ office. They were asked to explain a kind act and the impact it has had on their lives.

A diverse panel of judges had the painstaking process of choosing only two recipients; one male, one female. The judges did not know the names of the nominee nor the person who recommended them. In many cases, the students nominated do not know who has submitted the application in their name as is the case with our two winners. Some students were nominated by more than one person. Some had done many acts of kindness and some had done one. The judges based their decision on the impact the person had on the student that recommended them. Thank you to everyone who nominated someone for this award. And thank you to all those who live with kindness in their hearts on a daily basis.
